Q & A
Q: Why are you running against the current President, especially when she is a member of your club?
A: I have a deep respect for the current President and the efforts she has made for our organization. However, after careful consideration, I’ve decided to run for president because I believe our organization deserves stronger leadership, aligned with the values that I hold dear—honesty, inclusivity, and transparency.
Over the past term, I’ve seen opportunities for improvement in these areas. Honesty in decision-making, inclusivity in ensuring every member’s voice is heard, and transparency in communication about the direction and operations of our organization are critical to building trust and engagement. Unfortunately, these foundational values have not been consistently prioritized, and that’s why I feel called to step forward.
My goal is not to tear down anyone or diminish the work that has been done. Instead, I’m running to bring a fresh perspective and commitment to these values. I believe we can elevate our organization to new heights, empower all members, and ensure that we are living up to the mission of making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. This is why I’m asking for your trust and support.
Together, I know we can do better, and we can do it with honesty, inclusivity, and transparency as our guiding principles. I’m here to serve, and I am committed to leading with integrity and a focus on making a real difference for everyone involved.
Q: What specific changes do you plan to implement if elected?
A: If elected, my primary focus will be on ensuring that honesty, inclusivity, and transparency guide every decision we make as an organization. Here are a few key areas where I believe we can improve:
Honesty in Decision-Making – I will ensure that all decisions are made with integrity and in the best interest of our community. Members will be informed about the reasoning behind major decisions, and there will be open channels for feedback and discussion.
Inclusivity – Every member deserves to feel heard, respected, and valued. I will work to create more opportunities for members to engage in meaningful ways, whether through surveys, town halls, or focus groups. Together, we can ensure that every voice is part of the conversation.
Transparency – I will make it a priority to ensure that all aspects of our operations are transparent. From budget decisions to event planning, I believe everyone should have a clear understanding of how and why we’re making choices that affect our community.
By prioritizing these values, I’m confident we can make our organization stronger and more unified.
Q: How do you plan to address challenges in member engagement?
A: Engagement starts with trust. If members feel included, valued, and informed, they are more likely to stay engaged and contribute to our mission. Here's how I plan to boost engagement:
Regular Communication – I will make sure we have consistent updates on what’s happening in the organization, whether it’s through email, social media, or meetings. Members will always be in the loop, which helps foster a sense of community.
Opportunities for Involvement – I plan to create more ways for members to get involved, from volunteering opportunities to leadership roles. Everyone should have a chance to contribute based on their interests and skills.
Recognizing Contributions – Whether big or small, I will ensure that each member’s contributions are acknowledged and celebrated. When people feel appreciated, they’re more likely to remain engaged.
By creating a more transparent, inclusive environment where people feel empowered, I believe we can grow engagement in meaningful ways.
Q: How will you ensure fairness and accountability in the organization?
A: Fairness and accountability are at the heart of my campaign. I believe every member deserves equal opportunities to contribute and lead, and that the leadership should always be held accountable to the members they serve. Here's how I’ll approach it:
Clear Policies and Procedures – I will work to implement clear and fair guidelines for how decisions are made and how people can get involved. This transparency ensures that everyone knows what to expect and how to contribute.
Open and Transparent Financial Reporting – One of the key areas where fairness and accountability must be prioritized is in how we manage our finances. I will ensure that financial reports are made available to all members regularly and are presented in a clear, easy-to-understand format. This way, everyone can see how funds are being allocated, and any concerns can be addressed promptly.
Regular Check-Ins – I’ll make sure that there are regular opportunities for feedback, whether through surveys, town hall meetings, or one-on-one conversations. This will give everyone a voice in the direction of the organization and provide a space for open dialogue about how we can improve.
Accountability for Leadership – As president, I will hold myself and others in leadership accountable to our mission and values. Regular updates on our progress and decisions, including financial transparency, will help keep everyone informed and ensure we remain aligned with our goals.
By embedding fairness, openness, and accountability into every aspect of our operations—especially in how we manage and report finances—we can foster a stronger, more trusting organization where everyone feels empowered to participate and contribute.
Q: What makes you the best candidate for this role?
A: What makes me the best candidate is my commitment to the values of honesty, inclusivity, and transparency. These are not just campaign promises; they are the principles that I live by and believe should define our leadership.
I have the experience of working closely with our members, and I understand the needs, hopes, and challenges we face. More importantly, I am deeply passionate about seeing our Association grow into a community where every person feels valued, heard, and empowered to make a difference.
I’m not just seeking this role to hold a title—I’m here to serve. My focus is on our members, and ensuring that together we can build a stronger, more transparent, and more inclusive organization that truly lives out its mission.
Q: How do you plan to collaborate with the Executive Board of Directors and the Governors to ensure the success of the organization?
A: Collaboration is key to the success of any organization, especially one like ours where we all share a common mission of service and impact. As President, I recognize the importance of building strong, open relationships with the Executive Board of Directors and our governors to achieve our goals.
Here’s how I plan to foster effective collaboration:
Open Communication – I will ensure regular, transparent communication with the Executive Board and governors. I believe in having open and honest conversations about challenges, opportunities, and the organization’s direction. Everyone’s voice matters, and I will actively seek input from all board members to make informed decisions that are in the best interest of our members and the communities we serve.
Setting Clear Expectations and Goals – It’s essential that we are all aligned on the organization’s priorities. I will work closely with the Executive Board to set clear, achievable goals and create action plans to guide our work. This ensures that everyone is on the same page and accountable for their roles.
Delegating Responsibilities – Collaboration means leveraging the strengths of each individual on the Executive Board and among the governors. I will delegate tasks based on expertise, allowing each board member to shine in their area of focus. This also promotes a sense of shared responsibility and ensures that we are working as a unified team.
Regular Check-Ins and Feedback – Collaboration is an ongoing process, and I will make sure that we have regular check-ins to assess our progress, address any challenges, and celebrate our successes. I believe in a feedback-driven leadership style that encourages constant improvement and adaptation.
Inclusive Decision-Making – While I will lead as president, I strongly believe that the best decisions are made when we work together as a team. I will ensure that governors and board members have a seat at the table when important decisions are being made, fostering a sense of ownership and investment in the direction of the organization.
By working together closely and respecting each other’s perspectives, I am confident we can build a stronger, more effective leadership team that serves the needs of our members and communities.
